The Beautiful Port of Cairns
You are about to enter Cairns, Australia’s’ gateway to the tropical north and the incredible World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics Rainforest – two of the world’s great natural treasures.
Cairns is a vibrant cosmopolitan city with an easy going tropical lifestyle and all the amenities you expect of a modern city. The region is everything you’ve ever dreamed about, the Great Barrier Reef, ancient tropical rainforests, idyllic islands, immaculate and secluded beaches, spectacular diving, the world’s best game fishing and world class holiday retreats.
For visiting small yachts the Cairns Cruising Yacht Squadron is the perfect place to carry out maintenance and repairs. It has a 40 ton travel lift, and hard-stand area. The club also has a modern clubhouse with bar,restaurant and function facilities. There are several well stocked chandleries in the town where you can get just about everything a sailor needs to get your boat ship-shape. Cairns also has; shipwrights, sail makers, painters, and engineers, electronic specialists, marine surveyors, etc.
