In the 1880s, the Marquis de Rays,by all accounts an evil man perpetrated what will possibly go down in history as one of the most ruthless and tragic land swindles in in modern times.

He sent over 600 people to a mythical colony at Port Breton, New Ireland. Many died and most suffered terribly. Half a lifetime has gone into researching this project.
